We know it has been a while since our last post, but it has been eventful at the museum.
First a big thank you for everyone that supported us last year at all of events. We are planning a new year of shows and events. The display staff to working hard on getting ready a display to "WOW" our supporters socks off. But this year we are doing something new. The full display will only be at one show which is Akron at the "Props and Pistons" show in August. Then Hopefully we will be able to have it live and more intimate within the museum itself. But..........
In Findley OH at the "Armed Forces Day Celebration" (May 16th thru 19th) We are planning a working display and more one on one with all the visitors. We will be displaying everyday camp life for the soldier. Oh course it will be both educationally and fun. So if you are able come by and see us please stop in, sit a spell. We are having fun planning this one because more of our corky personality will be shown.
Now to the "Well that happened (A.KA SNAFU) " Segment of the post.........
We were able to start our HVAC project but, The building had other plans. Part one of three was completed without problems. In January the cold snap when tempers were in the negatives degrees, our water lines busted. Now if it had been our pipes lines were affected this would now have be an issue but, The main line that is controlled by the city and county is the line that broke.
Part two of the HVAC has been delayed due to the pipes and the water being shut off. We are still drying out the basement. The good news is to artifacts were not damaged. We are working very close to all parties involved to correct this. It has been determined the street and other areas will be ripped up around the museum for major construction this spring. We are asking please be patience or call first before visiting. We just what to make sure everyone stays safe (A bathroom helps also).
